American Idol Winner Injured In Car Accident

Car accidents are never fun, especially if they occur on New Year’s Day. Many people die in car accidents because they failed to take adequate precautions.

It wasn’t a very good start to the new year for Kris Allen.

The American Idol winner broke his arm after he, his pregnant wife and their dog were involved in a head-on car accident on New Year’s Day, according to his mother, Kimberly.

“From Kris: he’s in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please!” Kimberly Allen tweeted Tuesday, along with a picture of Allen with his right arm in a cast.

Later, she added, “Kristopher and Katy are both pretty beat up but ALIVE! Thank you Jesus! They are setting his arm now and will have surgery tomorrow.”

Allen himself took to Twitter to assure fans he was fine.

“Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe,” he wrote. (A Ford vehicle was part of Allen’s prize package when he won Idol in 2009.)

And despite his injury, Allen says he still plans to head out on the road later this month.

“Don’t worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on,” he tweeted.

Lindsay Lohan Is Jealous Of Amanda Bynes

Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan doesn’t understand why cops are giving Amanda Bynes a break. Maybe it’s because Bynes doesn’t quite have a long enough rap sheet.

Lindsay Lohan, who knows her away around the criminal justice system, thinks the cops and prosecutors are going easy on actress Amanda Bynes.

Bynes, the Nickelodeon TV child star turned “Easy A ” actress, was pulled over Sunday by Burbank airport police while driving her BMW. The officer cited Bynes, towed her car and let her go.

At the time of the incident, Bynes was already facing two hit-and-run charges and one of driving under the influence. Her driver’s license was revoked August 25 after the hit-and-run charges.

The fact that Bynes was let go Sunday seemed to irk Lohan, who was arrested and hauled off to jail several times while on supervised probation for five years for a DUI and a subsequent charge of shoplifting jewelry.

“Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” Lohan wrote on Twitter.

The tweet was quickly endorsed by some of her 4-million-plus followers on the social network.

Bynes, 25, is facing a drunk-driving charge after hitting a Los Angeles County sheriff’s cruiser April 6 in West Hollywood. After two more charges of hit and run were filed earlier this month, Bynes’ driver’s license was suspended, officials with the state Department of Motor Vehicles said. The charges are in connection with incidents April 10 and Aug. 4.

Lohan’s criticism may be motivated in part by the news that Bynes was pulled over Sept. 9 because her lights were not on. In that incident, Los Angeles police officers never asked for her driver’s license, which had been suspended Aug 25. Driving with a suspended license is against the law.

Then Sunday about 8:20 a.m., airport police pulled Bynes over. But instead of arresting her and taking her into custody, police cited and released her.

“These are the moments that I appreciate, my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress — night all,” Lohan posted on Twitter shortly after her Bynes comment.

Lohan’s career is rebounding after an  L.A. County Superior Court judge ended her supervised probation in March and praised her for completing her community service and ending five years of criminal court appearances that saw her jailed several times.

During Lohan’s lengthy probation stemming from two DUI arrests, she has been repeatedly jailed by judges for various violations, including using drugs and alcohol and failing to perform her required community service at a downtown women’s center.

Judge Stephanie Sautner sentenced Lohan to jail and saw her placed under house arrest for her probation violations. Sautner then imposed a strict set of monthly community service and therapy requirements with a warning that the actress would be jailed if she did anything wrong.

Lohan has publicly credited the judge and Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, with helping her rebuild her life and career, which hit rock bottom with the necklace theft conviction.

She recently completed a movie for Lifetime, in which she plays actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Another Rapper Gets Shot

An emerging MC’s voice was forever silenced. He never had the chance to rise to the ranks of 2Pac or Notorious BIG, but he died the same way they did.

After an aspiring teenage rapper was fatally shot in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood Tuesday, police are investigating whether the boy’s rivalry with another area rapper was to blame for the slaying.

Joseph Coleman, better known by his stage name “Lil JoJo,” was shot in the back when a car pulled up while he was riding a bicycle in the 6900 block of South Princeton Avenue on the city’s South Side around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Coleman, 18, was pronounced dead a short while later at an area hospital.

Hours after the shooting, 17-year-old up-and-coming rapper Chief Keef, who was featured at both Lollapalooza and the Pitchfork Music Festival this summer in Chicago and was recently remixed by Kanye West, took to Twitter to respond to the shooting. He said some really mean things.

Later, Chief Keef — real name: Keith Cozart — claimed that his Twitter account had been hacked.

Keef is associated with Lil Reese, another rising Chicago rapper, who is engaged in an ongoing rivalry with Coleman, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police say the slaying may be connected to a long-standing feud between two street gangs in the area — the Gangster Disciples and the Black Disciples — and that Coleman had been battling online with members of the Black Disciplines for some time prior to the shooting, the Sun-Times reports.

Chief Keef, who signed to Interscope Records this summer, previously was sentenced to house arrest after he was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon last December.

Keef also targeted Lupe Fiasco in recent weeks after the fellow Chicago rapper said in an interview that the violence of Keef’s and other young artists’ lyrics was disheartening, according to NBC.

Fiasco tweeted Wednesday that his next album will “probably be his last” because he no longer wants to take part in the culture.

Lindsay Lohan Is Also A Thief

Not only does Lindsay Lohan have a drug problem. Apparently, she also likes to steal from people’s homes. We sincerely hope that the troubled starlet doesn’t run into LL Cool J anytime soon.

Although Lohan is off the hook concerning a theft from a Hollywood Hills home, she seemed still upset about the situation four days after the alleged incident, according to her Twitter comments.

The actress went to Twitter to decry “lies” being told about her regarding the theft.

“Whenever I’m doing great, people fabricate lies.” Lohan wrote. “It’s such a shame.”

Los Angeles Police Department detectives had presented evidence to prosecutors Tuesday after several days of investigation, identifying Lohan as well as Gavin Lawrence Doyle and Andrew Nicholas Payan as suspects in the case.

Lohan and one of the alleged victims, identified as millionaire Sam Magid, had a “long-standing relationship,” and he did not identify any of the suspects, prosecutors said.

Although one of the suspects made a “vague admission” that someone had taken something, none of the suspects was found with any property.

In addition, prosecutors noted in the filing that eyewitnesses in the case did not cooperate with authorities, and the victims did not wish to pursue a criminal prosecution of the case.

LAPD detectives had been seeking to talk with Lohan after several items, including cash, sunglasses and a credit card holder, were reported stolen from a home Aug. 18.

The incident is the latest in a series of brushes with the law for Lohan, who has been trying to put her much-chronicled legal troubles behind her and resume her acting career.

She was on probation for a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence. Since then, she has also been convicted of shoplifting and was on probation for that offense as well.

Lohan was sent to jail several times for violating the terms of her probation. But she hewed to a strict regimen of counseling and community service at the county morgue.

In March, a judge ended her probation in the DUI case and reduced the shoplifting probation to unsupervised status.

In the latest case, according to prosecutors, the victims were asleep in the residence about 7:45 a.m. Aug. 18, when they became aware that someone was trying to get into the master bedroom of the home.

They searched for the suspects and saw a man later identified as Doyle standing outside the home. The man fled. While trying to call 911, an unidentified woman at the home saw a newer model BMW parked in front of the home and a second man enter the vehicle, which then drove away.

When LAPD officers arrived at the home, the victims reported that keys from cars at the home as well as cash, sunglasses and a credit card holder were missing.

Day laborers working across the street identified two men and a woman who arrived at the residence in a tan BMW around the time the crime reportedly occurred and then went inside.

But police were unable to find any evidence of forced entry into the cars or the home. A security guard interviewed by police said that at 2 a.m. that morning Lohan came to the home and wanted to enter it to speak with Magid.

She was told she could not come in and asked the guard if Magid was in the home with “some other girl.”

Actress Target Of Twitter Threats

Remember the 2007 movie “Juno” starring Ellen Page who played the role of Juno MacGuff? It’s a modern coming-of-age story in which 16-year-old Juno learns that she’s pregnant from a one-time sexual encounter with her best friend, Paulie Bleeker. Juno and Paulie like each other, but they don’t consider themselves to be a couple and they’re certainly not ready to have a child yet. Although she would rather not be pregnant, Juno is fairly realistic about her situation. Initially she decides that she will have an abortion, but that’s something that she ultimately cannot go through with. She decides to have the baby and give it up for adoption instead. The next step is to find prospective parents for the yet unborn child. On her own choosing, Juno enters into a closed rather than open adoption contract with the Lorings – meaning she will have no contact with the baby after she gives it up.

Los Angeles police detectives are investigating a series of death threats sent to actress Ellen Page on Twitter that coincided with calls to the L.A. Film Festival making similar pledges to kill the “Juno” star.

In one of the Tweets, the suspect declares, “I’m going to murder Ellen Page. She’s dead.”

LAPD Threat Management Unit detectives began investigating the messages in June, Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Norma Eisenman said, but authorities would not elaborate on the details of the probe.

Detectives in the case sought a search a warrant to trace the Twitter accounts of the sender.

Page’s management team, after learning of the threats, alerted Twitter and the police detectives who specialize in such threats.

According to the search warrant, in addition to the Twitter threats, organizers of the L.A. Film Festival also received threatening phone calls regarding Page. Her movie, “To Rome With Love,” premiered at the festival in June.

According to the search warrant affidavit, the anonymous caller threatened to kill Page, who was nominated for a lead actress Oscar for her role in 2007′s “Juno.”

Peter Frampton Hurt from Crash Involving Texting Driver

Distracted driving can cause many fender benders and even serious personal injury cases. When another driver is talking on the phone or looking down to text, their full concentration is taken away from the road. When this kind of negligent driving is present on roads, it will surely cause some unwanted, unnecessary car accidents.

Unfortunately, there are many drivers who take the chance and text or make phone calls while driving. This kind of behavior will lead to personal injury and sometimes wrongful death. It is vital that drivers are attentive on the road and put distractions away. Singer and songwriter Peter Frampton, 62, was recently in a car accident involving a texting woman.

On Tuesday, July 31, the rock star was hit from behind while on a freeway in Los Angeles. He was on the freeway when the lady behind him hit the back of his car. Frampton says he has suffered whiplash from the impact with his neck and back hurting. After the accident, Frampton says that he might go to the ER later that day after his flight. The collision has also prompted the musician to tweet about the incident, encouraging drivers to pay attention on the road and not text when on the wheel.

After being involved in the incident, Frampton sent out a tweet through his Twitter saying “Texting woman driver just ran into back of me while I was stationary in traffic 101 freeway. Can u say whiplash? People put the phones down!” Frampton’s word of advice is a wise precaution and warning. When people are texting, their attention is focused on their phone and not on the drivers around them.

Peter Frampton is best known for his album “Frampton Comes Alive!” He was on the road to get to a show. Thankfully he was not badly injured so that he can continue his performances without any delays. His next show is in Minnesota on August 3rd.

Texting penalties in California are usually around $20 to $50. State and local penalties can also add on to the bill, making the bill total to about $100. While these fines are not necessarily heavy enough to scare drivers from breaking the law, texting while driving can still cause some serious accidents. Put the texting and the phone calls away when driving to limit any unnecessary distractions. Frampton’s frustration is reasonable in that he did not have to suffer from whiplash or soreness. This accident was purely someone else’s fault—and all because of texting.

If you have been victim to personal injury because of someone else’s careless driving, do not hesitate to call a Los Angeles car accident lawyer to help you with legal matters. Consider consulting with a lawyer if you have been hurt in an accident and do not allow yourself to be the victim any longer.
